Editorial Policy

This page explains how SceneHack researches, writes, updates and corrects its content, so you know what to expect from every guide.

Our Goal

SceneHack publishes practical, easy-to-follow technology guides for everyday users. Every article should help a reader solve a real problem safely, without needing expert knowledge.

How We Research

  • Steps and settings are checked against official documentation from the vendor (for example Microsoft Support, Android Help and Google Account Help).
  • Articles link to the official sources they rely on, so readers can confirm the information.
  • We recommend official tools and app stores, and we never link to pirated, cracked or unsafe downloads.

How We Test

Where possible, guides are tested hands-on on our own devices: a Lenovo ThinkPad (Intel Core i7, 5th generation) running Windows 11 and an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Tested guides carry a “Tested by” note near the top showing the device used and when the steps were last checked. Steps for devices we do not own, such as specific Android phones, are based on official documentation and are clearly linked to their sources.

How We Write

  • Plain language, short steps and clear headings.
  • Notes where menus differ between devices, brands or software versions.
  • Safety first: risky actions such as factory resets or driver changes always come with a warning and a way to undo them where possible.

Updates

Software changes often. When a menu, feature or setting changes, we update the affected guide. Each article shows the date it was published or last updated.

Corrections

If you find an error or an outdated step, please tell us through the Contact page. We review every report and correct confirmed mistakes as quickly as possible.

Independence and Advertising

SceneHack may display advertising, including Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence on what we write, and ads are always kept separate from article content. We do not accept payment for recommendations.
